Hey!
I’m Marie, for the past 15 years I’ve worked as a stylist, creating sets and interiors schemes for some of the UK and Australia’s leading interiors magazines and worked along side some amazing commercial clients. I love my job – I literally eat, sleep and breathe interiors!
So welcome to my sketchbook, a spot to share all of the day to day inspirations, news and projects of a Interiors Stylist…
The home of Danish Photographer Mikkel Adsbøl is literally my dream home. I first saw it featured in Elle Decoration Country back in 2016 and ever since…it’s been top of my “when I build a house” inspiration board. The dramatic architecture and clean lines are off set by the soft calming blue walls. Which it turn provide the perfect backdrop for the natural textures, warm brass finishes and eclectic mix of woods.

Deep and moody blues have dominated the interiors scene for some years now, and it’s easy to see why. They can instantly add drama; warmth and ambiance to a room… but what about their shy and retiring sister powder blue? Not just for nurseries or coastal inspired schemes powder blue can be just as chic and bring a natural calm to a space…but don’t be mistaken they can also bring the drama too…

Adding touches of soft blue into a cool and sleek monochramatic scheme help to bring through soft blue tones from the hallway beyond.

Soft wedgewood walls provide the perfect backdrop for a statement headboard. The calming blue gives a fresh clean look to a classical inspired bedroom scheme , whilst the soft terracotta shades stop the room from feeling too cool.

I love the way baby blue has been teamed with plywood paneling in a scheme that’s light and bright without feeling cool. The touches of pink and light woods help to add warmth and create an inviting living space.

Reeded cabinets are set to become the next big home trend. Here the pale blue kitchen elevates the polished off-white concrete and white timbers to create a sleek, modern beach house look. That blue lighting flex is everything!!
